Rapids Rugby U18 girls team at the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival 2023
Rapids Rugby took our U18 girls team to the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival being held in Lisbon on April 1-2, 2023.
We spent a week in Lisbon training and seeing the sights. The tournament was quite an event. It is the largest youth rugby tournament in Europe with teams from all over Europe, and even as far away as Vancouver Island.
The girls played a great tournament, coming in 3rd to the U19 Portuguese National team and the Dutch U18 National teams. Needless to say we are very proud of how this team from a small Canadian town did against these national programs. Our Rapids girls were also awarded a tournament ball for having the best spirit!
