Rapids Rugby make up 10% of the athletes at BC Rugby’s Kamloops 7’s
Another success! Rapids Rugby players made up 10% of the athletes at BC Rugby’s Kamloops 7’s, which had teams from all the western provinces. We also had 3 teams take home silvers, U18 boys as well U14 boys and girls. A hugely successful and fun weekend for our athletes with the help of their coaches and managers! A big thank you to Ona for all her organizing. Getting 110 teens to Kamloops and back is no easy feat!
Jessica Postle earns a spot on the Canadian National U20 team
Jessica Postle (2nd from right), who has been with our program since the beginning earned a spot on the Canadian National U20 team this past summer. Despite being a year younger, Jessica impressed with her tenacious and physical play. The team played the U.S. and Welsh teams in Ottawa in July alongside the National Women’s team who played Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. attracting the largest crowd ever at a women’s rugby event here in Canada. Jessica is in her sophomore year at Central Washington University and we look forward to seeing her continue her pathway to the women’s national team.

Rapids Rugby super center Sienna Stigant travelling to World School 7’s in Auckland, NZ
We are so proud of Rapids super center Sienna Stigant for travelling with the BC Rugby U18 girls team to World School 7’s in Auckland, NZ in Dec. Sienna was one of 12 athletes chosen from around the province to represent our province at what is arguably the biggest and most competitive tournament for youth 7’s in the world. Sienna started every game was pivotal to the success of the team with her powerful runs and swift kicking. We can’t wait to see what is next for Sienna as she graduates on from our U18 program. Good luck Sienna!
U14 girls team wins the 2022 Island Finals by a landslide!
Congratulations to our U14 girls team for winning the 2022 island finals by a landslide! This is on the heal of winning Kamloops 7’s which is essentially a provincial tournament. Under the expert coaching of Pete Parke and Pete Morton these girls have skyrocketed to the top of BC’s teams. Unfortunately there is no provincial final for this age group but there is no doubt they would have been a strong contender to be the top team in BC. We look forward to watching these athletes work their way up the age groups and represent Rapids at the many representatives levels both provincially and nationally.
BC Rugby Kamloops 7’s 2022
October 8-9, 2022, saw Rapids Rugby take 70+ athletes, coaches and managers to BC Rugby Kamloops 7’s for a great weekend of rugby. This tournament brings in teams from all over the province and neighboring Alberta for a weekend of fast-paced, exciting 7’s rugby. Rapids Rugby had 6 teams competing for top spots in the province. Our U14 girls carried away the gold medal while our U18 girls took the bronze. All our teams exhibited great sportsmanship and awesome club spirit but the best part was watching all the athletes make amazing memories! Thank you to everyone who made this happen!
