Andrew Stigant- u16 girls

I grew up in the Comox Valley and played rugby at GP Vanier. I am a chef by trade and love the outdoors for camping and fishing.  I also played club rugby with the CV Kickers and the Nanaimo Hornets. I played on a select U18 Island  team to tour California in the late 80’s and toured the UK with the Kickers.

I currently assist coaching at a Mark Isfeld secondary. Watching my daughters reach an incredible level in this sport I am so proud of them and so thankful to be able to help other young athletes reach their goals and dreams.

Mimi Appelbe -u 18 girls

Mimi has over 25 yrs of coaching experience from minis to senior women but she has spent most of her time coaching U16-U18 at the school, regional and provincial levels. Here in the Valley she coaches for Rapids and Isfeld as well as teaching the students she works with as a VP for SD71. In her free time she enjoys biking, hobby farming, and being out on the water; but by far her favourite pastime is coaching!

Pete Parke - u14 girls

Pete has been a strong coaching presence in the Comox Valley for 20 yrs. He has coached basketball, lacrosse, and rugby, both boys and girls. Ten years ago he founded the Comox Valley Athletic Association in order to help athletes compete at a higher level. He has been involved with rugby at school, regional, and provincial levels. Pete brings great enthusiasm and commitment to every practice and game.

Outside of sport Pete spends his time healing animals big and small out of his clinic, Tsolum Vet Hospital, and can be seen riding his bike all over the valley!

Geoff Postel

Geoff started playing rugby in the military and coached there but made the move to high school when his daughters started playing. He has coached both girls and boys and is also a certified referee.

He can often be found studying videos, reading books, and doing coaching clinics, all with the purpose of being the best coach he can be. Geoff is a semi-retired SARTEC who trains incoming recruits. In his free time he can be found fishing/hunting, cooking and mountain biking.
